Things to Do
Things to do in the local area – we even have our own fishing lake
Fishing Lake
The on site fishing lake is an exclusive facility available free of charge to our cottage guests only. It is positioned just 400 metres from the holiday cottages along a dedicated footpath.
The fish species include common, mirror and crutian carp, bream, roach, rudd, barbel and tench, with the lake now becoming well established, with good sized fish being caught.
There is a small lakeside fishing lodge available for storage of fishing equipment which also can be used for the fisherman´s partner or family to sit and relax and watch the fishing in progress, a picnic table and chairs are provided.
Fun Coast
Lincolnshire Coast
The North Lincolnshire seaside resorts of Cleethorpes, Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea, which are close to Canal Farm, have wonderful beaches of fine, golden sand.
The area is perfect for a traditional ‘bucket and spade’ family seaside holiday. All the North Lincolnshire resorts have achieved the coveted Blue Flag standard for cleanliness. These resorts have many visitor attractions to keep families entertained, such as leisure pools and promenades – why not hire a beach chalet for a day!
The beach at Theddlethorpe, 10 minute drive from Canal Farm, offers a vast expanse of beautiful golden sand – with no amusements! This beach is a favourite with our family offering peace and solitude away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Occasionally you can see a seal pop up in the shallow water – and the birdlife is amazing. It is a long walk to the sea here, and dog walking is allowed on this beach all year round.

Ticklepenny
Sleeps 2/4
Ticklepenny cottage now offers 4 star self-catering accommodation for two/four people. This is our smallest holiday let, and is single storey so is suitable for guests with limited mobility.
